What Makes a Creator Stand Out in 2025
The 3 traits separating top creators from noise across LinkedIn, TikTok & IG.

If AI can make content faster, prettier, and cheaper… what makes you stand out as a multi-hyphenate? 👀
The exec with a 9-5.
The founder building a company.
The podcaster running a side project.
The professional who wears three hats at once.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately after sharing what happens if AI floods content in sports, media & entertainment in my other newsletter Student of the Game.
For people like us, content isn’t always “the whole business.” But it IS the unlock to new clients, job opportunities, speaking invitations, partnerships, visibility, etc.
And I’ve slowly pieced the puzzle together to recognize the patterns.
🧠 The ONP Test for Multi-Hyphenates
The creators actually cutting through in Fall 2025 aren’t the loudest or most polished. They’re actually the ones leaning into ONP💡:
💡 Original Takes
💡 Niche POVs
💡 Personality
Here’s how it shows up for multi-hyphenate creators…
1. Original Takes
Most "hot" takes are just lukewarm tbh, but original takes last.
If you’re straddling multiple lanes (ie. sports + tech, or creative + corporate), your perspective is naturally different. Use that!
“I’ve noticed a trend on social (especially on LinkedIn, where I indulge my appetite for corporate misery) where we exist in a pool of lukewarm takes. Contrarian for contrarian’s sake. Comment sections full of people parroting the main post as if reciting a lesson they don’t fully understand back to the teacher. It’s become boring. And frankly, annoying and predictable.”
💡 Ask yourself: What do I see differently than others in my field? That’s your advantage.
2. Niche POVs
Generic = blah and basic. Specific = memorable and (I couldn’t think of another relevant “m” word here, but yes, memorable).
Multi-hyphenates thrive in niche intersections. If you’re a 9-5 partnerships exec and a podcast host beyond your day job, don’t post generic “partnerships tips.” Post:
“What my partnerships career taught me about how to approach sponsors for my podcast,” (or vis versa).
This kind of cross-pollination is the unfair advantage only YOU have.
💡 Ask: What’s the smallest group who would say, ‘this was written for me’?
Write for them. Contrary to what we think, being hyper-specific actually makes you more relatable (or uniquely interesting).
Examples:
3. Personality
Sure AI can replicate structure, format and even tone these days, but it can’t replicate you (at least not yet, anyways 🫣).
Your style, humor, and way of connecting dots across industries is what makes your content memorable.
💡 Ask: Would someone know this was me, even without my name on it?
^ This one takes a lot of time and unlearning of what we were taught in school on how to write, but the creators nailing this are the ones I’m seeing locking in literally dozens of opportunities.
Examples:
Your Turn: The ONP Test.
So before you publish, run your content through this filter:
O: Original take?
N: Niche POV?
P: Personality?
If you’ve got 2–3/3, you’re in great shape. If not, see how you can sharpen it.
Remember, you’re a multi-hyphenate exec, founder, podcaster, writers, side-hustler, etc. - your intersections are your edge. If you need help with crafting your content this way, check out my secret tool here that’s changed my content strategy forever.
