Feeling stuck with your content? Try this challenge
If you’re in a slump (or overthinking everything), here’s a low-pressure way to build your momentum and visibility fast.

You don’t need another content plan. You need a content challenge.
I KNOW what you’re thinking, “This is some basic af advice, Adriene. I could’ve Googled this.” BUT WAIT…

If you’ve been stuck in a loop of overthinking, ghosting your own ideas, or struggling to stay visible online, you need to hear this.
Maybe you’ve got a ton of half-drafted posts.
Or a note in your phone with 25 “ideas” you never hit publish on. I’m being so fr with you, this is my actual Notes app rn.

Don’t even get me started on the number of links I’ve sent myself on content inspo. 🫠
Or mayyybe it’s the complete opposite. Maybe you just don’t feel like you have anything new to say right now.
Whatever the case, you don’t need to go viral to break the cycle. You just need to go. 🏎️💨
Why content challenges actually DO work
Most people think of these like it’s just a TikTok trend or a New Year’s goal.
But when done right, content challenges are a super strategic tool, especially for professionals who want to build a stronger presence online.
Here’s why…
💼 Professional visibility. Consistent posting puts you top-of-mind. And top-of-mind leads to opportunities like speaking gigs, referrals, press, jobs, client leads, and more.
🎯 Clarity through repetition. You’ll sharpen your point of view, simply by sharing it more often. That builds credibility and helps others understand what you actually do. As the Rule of 7 goes - it takes potential customer to encounter a brand's marketing messages at least SEVEN times before making a purchase decision. Same thing goes for our personal brands and goals, too.
🧠 Less decision fatigue, MUCH more momentum. 62% of marketers say “working with a clear content plan or challenge is the most effective way to overcome creative overthinking and procrastination,” (Content Marketing Institute). And, well, YA. We need to think like this for our personal content as creators and (XYZ), too.
📊 Plus more numbers that back it up…
68% of creators said structured posting routines helped reduce stress and fostered creative play aka make creating content fun again (Influencer Marketing Hub, 2023).
30% average increase in impressions for inactive accounts after 30 days of consistent posting (Hootsuite, 2024)
80% of creators said prioritizing momentum over perfection resulted in “better output and habit formation” (Buffer).
I’m doing one right now: #EveryDay2025

Starting July 1, I created a challenge for myself: Post once per day, on any platform, in any format for the rest of 2025.
That includes:
LinkedIn posts
Newsletters
TikTok videos
Threads and IG stories (would you believe me if I told you these were the formats I was most nervous to share 😅)
Even content I almost didn’t post because it “wasn’t that deep”
It’s helped me stop overthinking and start shipping.
I’ve gotten in front of new people, increased visibility across multiple projects, and built momentum all without overthinking every post like I typically do.
Want to join me? Tag me and use the hashtag #EveryDay2025 and set your own rules. Or design your own version 👇
3 challenge styles to try (steal one or remix your own)
1. The Weekday Sprint
Post 1x per day OR 3x per week, Monday-Friday, for 2 weeks.
Low pressure, but still enough consistency to build a habit.
2. The Format Flip
Alternate between post types: Story → Carousel → Newsletter → Video → Text
This breaks you out of your go-to style and builds range.
3. The Weekly Deep Dive
Post 1 long-form piece per week for 4 weeks.
A newsletter, a blog, a multi-slide post - something thoughtful.
Set your rules like this:
📌 Pick a platform (or let it vary day-to-day)
📌 Decide the cadence (daily, weekday-only, weekly, etc.)
📌 Set your “done is done” threshold (e.g. 10 minutes or 100 words minimum)
📌 Track your progress (calendar, checklist, or post log)
📌 Optional: Use a hashtag or title (like #EveryDay2025) so it feels legit
I’m a v visual learner and love seeing my progress to check off on which is Notion is my best friend these days 🫶
As you can see, some of these posts don’t even have a dedicated content pillar to them. I’ve decided it’s okay to have a holistic personal brand for my #EveryDay2025 challenge. My life is not always work and I can talk about other things. Something I’ve personally struggled with allowing to evolve over the years, but slowly adapting to.
Not sure what to say? Start here.
If you need content prompts, frameworks, or tools to bring this to life. I’ve got you!!
tl;dr: Challenges > Calendars
I want to make one thing super clear though. You don’t need to be “everywhere” for your challenge. It’s more important for you to continue proving to yourself that you can show up, and making that the priority.
And for anyone thinking,
“But doesn’t this dilute your content?” or “But you’ve said quality over quantity in the past.”
Look, I get you. Quality matters.
BUT if you’re stuck in a rut or second-guessing every idea, obsessing over “perfect” posts won’t get you anywhere.
Momentum builds confidence, and from there, the quality actually improves.
Start small and build the muscle, then you can go back and refine.
No overthinking. No ghosting your own ideas. Just post the dang content.
Your turn
